What your shoes say about you

Julia, HR Representative
Black Top: Boutique in Hamburg
Jeans: Hallhuber
Peep toes: Department Store Oslo
Nail polish: Schellac
Last year Julia visited her old friend Grete in Oslo. They strolled around the city and spotted a nice and small shoe shop accidentally. It took Julia only ten minutes to find not one but two perfect looking and fitting pairs. Obviously her feet are made for Norwegian shoes because usually it is rather hard for Julia to find well fitting shoes. For one year now, these shoes are walking her to all important events. And guess what! Of course Julia was wearing these gorgeous, beige peep toes to a wedding when she met her boyfriend. You can imagine that these shoes mean a lot to her! Besides, Julia's story makes it pretty clear: The perfect fitting shoe is hard to find!
Say Hello to the new super polish: Schellac! Say Good Buy to nicks, chips and smudges. Shellac is a nail product that lasts for at least 14 days without chipping, scratching, or smudging. Lasting 14 days is an accomplishment all by itself but shellac. Julia has even noticed that her nails are stronger and healthier after using shellac. I am already looking forward using it for the first time!

True friendship is hard to find

Aischa, Mother and Freelancewriter
Blouse and 7/8 Trousers: Benetton
Sandals: UGG
Watch: Swatch
Aischas's routes are Swiss and Pakistani. She speaks five languages fluently and travelled a lot in her life. Now she lives together with her family in Istanbul. Keeping in touch and spending time with her friends who live all around the world is very important for Aischa. Her jade necklace is a gift from a close friend living in China now. Wearing the necklace makes Aischa think of her wonderful friend. And she is right because real friendship has nothing to do with distance or time zones.

Why can't people just accept how they look

Mina, Student and Writer
 Grey Top: American Eagle
Turquoise Top: Present from her mother
Jeans: Levi's
Shoes: Inheritance from her mother
Pearls are very important for Mina. For that reason she never takes off her pearl necklace. Mina got her first pearl ring from a jeweler in Jordan when she was only 7 years old. This ring still is her lucky sign. Her attitude towards fashion deeply impressed me. Not only the fact that she is happy to wear "hand-me-down's", but also her clear thoughts! For her, shopping and trends are not important at all. Mina is convinced that beauty is subjective. It's hard for her to understand why people just can't accept how they look. In her eyes people try so hard to cover their real personality by using a lot of make up, always wearing the latest trend or plastic surgery which always looks wrong. Very wise for a 14 years old girl.

Knowing your roots makes you understand who you are

Rana, Children books Author and Mother
Top: Inheritance of her older sister
Shots: Mango
Watch: Swatch
Shoes: Department Store Istanbul
Rana got this beautiful, handmade blouse six years ago from her older sister. Before, her sister already had been wearing it for more than four years. The blouse reminds Rana of her Hungarian grandmother. The stitched flower motive is kind of typical Hungarian handcraft. Wearing it makes Rana feel connected to her Hungarian roots, even though the ties are cut and the language was not passed after her grandparents moved to America. Rana feels a great thirst for knowing her grandparents history. She wears the blouse to fulfill the need to know more about her Hungarian heritage. And she is totally right because knowing your roots makes you understand who you are. Like in Jonathan Safran Foer's "Everything is Illuminated"

How a bag gives positive energy

Melissa, Fashion Design Student
 Shirt & Belt: Zara
Loafers: Tod's
Bag: Givenchy
Watch: Timex
Bracelet: Hermès (Vintage)
Rivet bracelet: Topshop
As long as Melissa remembers she has been a hugh Givenchy fan! She loves everything Givenchy stands for: Modern and classic design at the same time, high quality materials and most important the spirit. Coming up with new ideas every single collection. Last year Melissa went through a tough time. One day when it felt so hard to find positive energy she decided to take all her savings to buy her first Givenchy bag. In fact it was her first luxury item she bought from her own money. Melissa put the new bag on the passenger seat and could not take her eyes off it throughout the ride home. Still this Givenchy bag gives her positive energy and the certainty that tough times are necessary to be able to enjoy good times.
