Become Aware of Your Deepest Self

 Anja, Yoga Instructor
Parka: Levi's
Loop Scarf: Handmade, X-Mas Present from Anja's mother
Bobble Hat: Canada Goose, Present from her Boyfriend
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Cord Trousers: H&M
Boots: Ugg, Present from her Father
It was a perfect Sunday in Hamburg when I took pictures of Anja: Cold, sunny and beautiful colored leaves. She was on her way to give a Yoga class when we talked. On the question of the story behind her key piece, Anja told me that today all her clothes have a personal significance. It's important for Anja that her clothes are made of natural materials. I think it's significant how her attitude towards life is visible in her personal style. As a Yoga instructor she believes that Yoga has the goal of helping human beings to become aware of their deepest nature. Yoga brings together both the physical and the mental aspects to realise peacefulness and help the body to relax. Yoga helps drawing the focus away from the stresses of life. The key to Yoga is the movement along with the breathing. Anja can't imagine a life without Yoga. And I can't wait to join her yoga class the next time I am in Hamburg.

Know First Who You are and then Adorn Yourself Accordingly

Merve, Clinical Psychologist
Glasses: Hugo Boss
Trench Coat: Topshop
Dress: ebay, Turkey
Pumps: NR.39
Bag: H&M
Bracelets: Begart, Accessorize
Rings: H&M
I noticed Merve from a great distance. She just stood out from the crowd with her magnificent trench coat. I could see that Merve is connected to herself and confident about it. She loves to create her own individual style by combining different labels, designers and patterns. A unique style is always based on the various aspects of the personality, like taste, desires, interests, inspirations, aspirations and history. In the end, finding your personal fashion style is always getting to know who you are. "Know first who you are and then adorn yourself accordingly." - Epictetus (Greek philosopher)
Merve's pumps are from NR.39. NR.39's design approach is to make hand-made, original shoes with a small number of niche production, using high quality genuine leather, orthopedics in high heels and extraordinary materials. Extremely hot at the moment in Istanbul. Her bracelet is from Begart, another up-and-coming Turkish designer.

Faith is a Passionate Intuition

Sedef, Actress
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Necklace: Market in Beyoglu
Blouse: H&M
Jeans: Mavi
Boots Beymen
Sedef was very amazed when I told her about Imprimoloco. Five minutes before I arrived she talked to her friends about the idea to open her own blog. Sedef is an actress. Right now she is working for the Turkish FOX Series "Esir Şehrin Gözyaşları" - "Tears capture the City". Her idea is to blog about what's happening behind the scene. I think, her idea is brilliant because people in Turkey love telenovelas and would be totally interested in background knowledge. In the end we talked not only about her story, but also about how to build a blog in general. In fact, she opened our conversation by saying: This is kind of faith. And I think she is right because for me faith is a passionate intuition.
To be honest, I first noticed Sedef's boots. They were the reason I asked Sedef to tell me her story. They look fashionable and so autumn!

As Tears Go By

Berrak, Architect and Interiour Designer
Shirt: Sandra, Paris
Trousers: Nolita, Italy
Ballerinas: Babette, Paris
Knot Bracelet: Hand Made, Black Sea
Tear Bracelet: Tiffany
Watch: Toy Watch

Berrak is wearing the charm bracelet every day. If you take a closer look you can see that all charms are tears. The bracelet means a lot to her. Some time ago Barrek went through a difficult period, she cried a lot. To make the tears and the sadness go away her boyfriend gave her this beautiful tear-bracelet. And somehow the tears transformed into confidence. I believe that tears often act as a talisman, keeping you on track of what matters to you. If I feel strongly enough to have tears about something, it's very, very important. Sometimes tears make my decision.

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head

Elif, H&M Area Controller
Blouse: H&M
Trousers: H&M
Boots: Desa
Watch: Tissot
Click here to read where Elif gets her style inspiration from...
Elif was sure that it would become a rainy day. For that reason she chose her rainboots in the morning. In the end it's a very sunny and rather warm day in Istanbul. People normally become indignant about rain because especially in Istanbul nothing runs smoothly anymore. Not Elif - she just prepares herself by choosing the right pair of shoes and doesn't care about the weather forecast any longer. I like her attribute: Acting with foresight! The whole situation made me think of one of my favourite songs "Raindrops keep falling on my head"..."but that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red. Crying's not for me. Cause I am never gonna stop the rain by complaining. Because I am free. Nothing's worrying me. It won't be long till happiness steps up along to greet me..." So true!!!!!

Passion is the Trigger of Success

Ali, H&M Area Visual Merchandiser
Complete Outfit: H&M
My Swedish heart beat faster when Ali told me that he is working for H&M Turkey. We even chatted in Swedish. And of course, Ali's complete outfit is from H&M. The fact that he is identifying himself in such a positive way with his employer H&M, deeply impressed me. Ali loves his job obviously. Passion is the trigger of success - that's for sure. Two years ago the first H&M store opened in Turkey, Istanbul. Now there are five stores in Turkey. There is a particular strong demand for H&M in Turkey. Quite rightly in my opinion since there is no other place where you can find so many different categories. My favourite H&M brand is DIVIDED. Today Ali's outfit is pretty classy because of the weekly monday meeting. He told me that he would usually dress more casual. Anyway, his style matches!

A Sister is a little bit of Childhood that can never be lost

Eylül, Management Engineering Student
TShirt: Boutique, Kadiköy
Tights: Bazaar, Kadiköy
Shoes: Bambi
Necklace: Her sisters
Hairband: Her sisters
Sitting in Kadiköy downtown, Eylül enjoyed her coffee. I love her hairstyle and the fact that she was so relaxed. We didn't talk for a long time, but when I asked her about the story behind her style Eylül pointed at her necklace and hairband. She mentioned the close relationship between her and her sister. Your sister is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. And I know because I am lucky to have two sisters myself.

The Power to Create

Pınar, Workshop Designer & Creative Worker
Sunglasses: miu miu
Knit Jumper: Mudo Collection
Skirt: Mudo Collection
Shoes: H&M
Bracelet: Durak DükkanBeşiktaş Istanbul
Leather Brief Case: Heritage of her father
Somehow I could tell from the first second that Pınar is a very creative and sensitive person. I don't know exactly why - I just had that feeling. And then she started telling me her story and I understood. Pınar's father died three years ago. They had a very close relationship. From that day on she is carrying his brief case. Her father bought the brief case in 1982 - Pınar's year of birth. That tragic experience changed everything in her life. She left her job at a big advertising agency because all the lies did not make sense to her any longer. Pınar found her soul mate and she became a mother. She describes herself as a Creative Worker. Quit rightly, in my view! Take a look at her amazing creative work: puf pembe.
I love the bracelet and I can't wait passing by that small boutique in Beşiktaş where Durak Dükkan sells his unique jewellery. And even if the bird is not finished yet I think it's definitely a Pınar bird.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Sibel, Marketing Manager at The Ritz Carlton
Shoulder Pads, mini skirt, metallic pattern, wide belt and permanent wave - the perfect 1980s look, I think. Nothing can go wrong for Sibel by wearing this outfit. I am sure that she will be a very good host at The Ritz Carlton's theme party tonight. Shoulder pads may be the strangest of the fashion fads. I just don't understand why we wanted to make our shoulders look bigger. And then of course leg warmers - at least one or two pairs of leg warmers could be found in every girl's dresser. Fingerless gloves were another 80s fashion fad and forever interconnected with Madonna's look in the mid-80s, the messy chic look. My two personal 80s relics are a Rubik's Cube and of course a Dirty Dancing MC.

Material Girl - a Journey into the Past

Elif, Marketing Manager at The Ritz Carlton Istanbul
Complete Outfit: By Retro
Yesterday I took a trip back in time. I went to Istanbul's most popular vintage store "By Retro". It felt like entering a different world: The smell, the decoration, tons of bags and glasses - all the original retro stuff. For the first ten minutes I was amazed by the wide range and the atmosphere. Then, I discovered two ladies who would have been the perfect cast for any 80s movie. Elif is working as a sales manager for "The Ritz Carlton" Istanbul. This evening the hotel is throwing a theme party: Back to the 1980s! I have no doubt about her totally authentic outfit!!!

Look at the world with new eyes

Berk, Advertising Student, Photographer
Hat: Small Shop, Ak Deniz (Mediterranean Coast)
Shirt: H&M
Jeans: "I can't remember"
Sneakers: Small Shop, Yalova, "My one and only pair of shoes"
Wooden Wristband: H&M, France
Leather Wristband: Relic of his teenage time
I saw Berk sitting in a cafe, enjoying his drink. No company, no mobile phone, totally resting in himself. To be honest, I was impressed by this peace. Just look around, people usually hide behind their digital device. He showed me his wooden wristband and reminisced about his Erasmus time. Berks time with Erasmus in Holland is one of the highlights in his life so far. It's much more than a studying experience. It's a way to look at the world with new eyes. You find out a lot about yourself. During a trip to France, Berk bought the wristband: A souvenir of this unforgettable experience.
Men and bags are not that easy, I think. But I had to pay Berk compliments for his very unique bag: A vintage camera bag from the 1980s!
